I am artist living and working in France. My main style of painting is realism. After observing me work for hours on a painting, a friend once asked me if I wished I had magical powers to make the art appear finished on the canvas, without any thought to it, i answered, No! Even more than stepping back and enjoying the beauty of a finished painting, I find the process of creating the painting more fulfilling. From preparing the surface of the canvas to laying down the guiding drawings, the chaotic mixing of colours on the palette to the cliché sound of the brush against the canvas as I lay down the paint. All those countless hours are what gives meaning to my works and ultimately to my Life. Understanding this is understanding why creating art is so important to me. It provides me a measure of response to the question of the reason I am here. Every stroke of brush I paint is a letter in a chapter of the book of my life written in pictures, and it is by these series of pictures I have created that I hope to be one day remembered.
